Furniture assembly in Sunrise is $129 for a simple item such as a bookshelf, a side table or a TV stand, $169 for a medium item like a desk, a dresser or a dining table, and $219 for a complex build such as a wardrobe, a bed frame or an entertainment center. Three or more pieces takes 10% off the total, and hourly work is $80/hr with a two-hour minimum.

The number comes before the visit: $129 simple, $169 medium, $219 complex, 10% off the total on three or more pieces, or an $80 service call, then $80/hr with a two-hour minimum. Text the retailer and item names to (786) 788-8714 and we quote from that. Gold Hands Miami is insured, and we send a certificate to a condo association or HOA office whenever one is required.

The City of Sunrise splits into three assembly worlds. Central Sunrise, 33322, is dominated by Sunrise Lakes — a sprawling 55-and-over community of low-rise condos and villas built between the early 1970s and the 1990s, ringed by lakes and clubhouses — with single-family and townhome subdivisions of a similar era around it. West Sunrise, 33323, is later and more uniform: 1980s-to-2000s single-family homes and townhomes in planned, frequently gated HOA subdivisions out near the Sawgrass Expressway. And 33351, the northwest side around Welleby, is concrete-block single-family homes and villas from the 1970s and 1980s with screened patios and community lakes, spilling at the edges into Lauderhill and Tamarac.

Sunrise Lakes and the low-rise problem nobody warns you about

Everyone plans for a high-rise. What catches people out in central Sunrise is the opposite: low-rise condo buildings and villas from the 1970s and 1980s, where the stairs are narrow, the landings are tight, and the elevator — if the building has one at all — is a small passenger cab that was never intended to swallow a boxed wardrobe. A queen frame or a seven-foot bookcase does not always come up the way it looks like it should, and the answer is usually to plan a route before the box is opened rather than to force one.

The association is the second half of the picture. Sunrise Lakes and the surrounding condo communities run on rules: check in at the management office, work inside posted hours, provide a certificate of insurance, and use the entrance the community designates for contractor traffic. That is all fine, and it is all easier arranged the week before. Give us the community and the management contact when you book. Cardboard also goes with us — a bedroom set produces more packaging than a shared villa trash area is meant to take, and leaving it there makes you unpopular with a board you have to live alongside.

Gated West Sunrise and the newer building stock out by the Sawgrass

West Sunrise, 33323, is a different job in almost every respect. The homes went up from the 1980s into the 2000s in planned subdivisions, many of them gated, with more uniform layouts and modern construction. Interior partitions are conventional framed walls, so anchoring a tall wardrobe or a child's chest against tipping is straightforward — a proper stud fixing rather than the plastic plug supplied in the hardware bag. Two-story houses and townhomes are common, which means the real work is often the staircase rather than the assembly, and it helps to know in advance whether the delivery is sitting in the garage or already upstairs.

Gate access is the West Sunrise version of the condo-office problem. Gated communities out here usually want a contractor on the resident's approved list or logged at the booth, and that is a two-minute task the day before and a twenty-minute one at the guard house. Tell us the community name when you book. Where a homeowners' association also asks for a vendor certificate on file, we send it ahead rather than waiting to be asked.

Welleby, screened patios and who actually books assembly in Sunrise

In 33351, the Welleby side, the housing is concrete block on tidy lots, largely 1970s and 1980s, with villas and townhomes mixed in and screened patios on a great many of them. Screened patios generate their own assembly requests — outdoor tables, loungers, storage benches and rattan sets that arrive flat-packed and get built where they will live. Block construction also means an exterior wall takes a masonry anchor rather than a stud fixing, so anything tall going against one gets hardware chosen after we look at the wall.

As for who calls: in the 55-plus communities it is very often somebody who simply should not be lifting a boxed dresser, and the request is as much about the carry and the cleanup as the build. In the family subdivisions of 33323 and 33351 it is bunk beds, desks and dressers as kids' rooms get reorganised, usually several at once — which is exactly when the 10% multi-item discount is worth grouping for. And across all three zips there is a steady stream of rental turnovers in the condo and townhome communities, where furniture has to be standing before a tenant walks in.

Furniture Assembly in Sunrise — questions we get asked

How much does furniture assembly cost in Sunrise?

$129 for a simple item such as a bookshelf, a side table or a TV stand; $169 for a medium item like a desk, a dresser or a dining table; $219 for a complex build such as a wardrobe, a bed frame or an entertainment center. Three or more pieces takes 10% off the total. Hourly work is $80/hr with a two-hour minimum. Call or text (786) 788-8714.

Can I trust the person coming into my home?

Gold Hands Miami is insured, and we will hand over proof of coverage before the work starts, not after. You are told who is arriving in advance. We keep to the room the furniture is for, we do not need to be anywhere else in the home, and the flattened packaging leaves with us rather than sitting in your entryway.

My condo association or HOA requires a certificate of insurance. Can you handle that?

Yes. It comes up constantly in Sunrise, in the Sunrise Lakes communities and in the gated HOA subdivisions west of town alike. Send the management office contact when you book and the certificate is on file before the appointment. If the community also needs the visit approved at a gate or logged with the office, tell us the community name and we will sort that out ahead of the day.

I live in a 55-plus villa or low-rise condo and I cannot lift the boxes myself. Is that a problem?

No — it is a large part of why people here call us. We move the flat-packs from wherever the delivery left them, up the stairs or through the small elevator if there is one, and build in the room the furniture is staying in. Tell us the floor, whether there is a lift, and whether the boxes are still sealed, and we will come prepared for the carry as well as the build. Nothing about it needs you on the floor with an allen key.

How long does furniture assembly take?

A simple item like a bookshelf takes 30-45 minutes. A full bedroom set — bed, dresser, nightstands — typically takes 2-3 hours. We give you a time estimate when you book.

Do I need to unbox the furniture first?

No. We handle everything from unboxing to assembly to cleanup. Just show us where you want it placed.

Can you assemble furniture I bought from any store?

Yes. If it comes in a box with instructions, we can build it — regardless of brand or where you bought it.

What if parts are missing from the kit?

We identify the missing part and help you contact the manufacturer for a replacement. For common hardware, we often carry a spare in the truck.
