Furniture assembly in Hollywood costs $129 for a simple piece such as a bookshelf or TV stand, $169 for a desk, dresser or dining table, and $219 for a wardrobe, bed frame or entertainment center, with 10% off the total on three or more pieces. Rental turnovers and whole-unit furnishing are usually cheaper hourly at $80/hr with a two-hour minimum.
The price does not move between the Broadwalk and Emerald Hills: $129 simple, $169 medium, $219 complex, 10% off once there are three or more pieces, or an $80 service call, then $80/hr with a two-hour minimum when the job is a list rather than an item. A vacation rental refit — two frames, three nightstands, a dining set, a console — is an hourly booking almost every time. Send the item list or a photo of the boxes to (786) 788-8714 and you will have the number before we schedule anything.
Hollywood is really three places wearing one name. ZIP 33019 is the barrier island: condominium and apartment buildings by the sand along with mid-century and waterfront homes in the Lakes and Harbor Islands sections, and a heavy share of seasonal and vacation-rental units. ZIP 33020 is central Hollywood — downtown, Young Circle and the blocks running east — mostly 1920s to 1950s bungalows and ranch homes with plaster walls and terrazzo floors, mixed with mid-rise condos. ZIP 33021 is Hollywood Hills, an inland grid of 1950s to 1970s concrete-block ranch houses with larger two-story homes around the Emerald Hills golf course. Gold Hands Miami is insured, and works all three.

On Hollywood Beach the assembly has to fit between two guests
A large part of 33019 is short-term rental, and that gives assembly a deadline rather than a date. The turnover window is the gap between one guest checking out and the next checking in, which is usually a few hours in the middle of a day, and everything has to happen inside it: the boxes come up, the frame and the dresser get built, the packaging leaves the building, the unit is photographed and it is ready to let. We schedule against your check-out and check-in times rather than against a general morning or afternoon slot, and we send photos when the work is done so an owner who is not in Florida can release the unit.
The building is the other half of the equation. Almost every tower along the beach requires a certificate of insurance from a vendor before anyone works in a unit, most reserve the service elevator and the loading area in windows, and a number of buildings restrict noisy work on holidays and around quiet hours — which lands squarely in the busiest rental weeks. Give us the building name and the management contact when you book: we send the certificate ahead, take the window management offers, and plan the noisy part of the build to sit inside the permitted hours rather than discovering the rule at the front desk.
Central Hollywood bungalows and Hollywood Hills ranches need two different toolkits
In 33020 the houses are old by South Florida standards — bungalows and ranch homes from the 1920s through the 1950s, many with their original plaster or lath walls and terrazzo floors. Plaster over lath is brittle and does not hold a modern drywall anchor, so a bookcase restraint or a wardrobe bracket has to be located on solid framing and fixed properly, with the fewest holes the piece needs. Terrazzo is the other consideration: it is a beautiful floor and a hard one to repair, so heavy carcasses get lifted and set on protection rather than dragged, and the build happens on a drop cloth rather than directly on the stone.
Hollywood Hills in 33021 is a different problem entirely. These are concrete-block houses from the 1950s through the 1970s, mostly one story on generous lots, with the two-story homes concentrated near Emerald Hills. Block means masonry anchors, not plugs, for anything that must be secured to a wall. The compensation is space: driveways, garages and wider hallways make it far easier to receive several deliveries and stage the boxes near the room they belong in, which is why whole-house furnishing after a move goes faster here than on the island. Where a build needs work that legally requires a licensed trade, that portion goes to a licensed pro instead of being done by us.
Salt air is the reason Hollywood balcony furniture fails first
Anyone who has owned a unit near the Broadwalk knows what the ocean does to metal. Salt air reaches every balcony on the island and works on hinges, brackets, fasteners and light fixtures far faster than it does a few miles inland, and flat-pack outdoor furniture is built to a price, so the bolts and brackets in the carton are frequently plain steel. Where a set allows it we fit stainless or coated hardware during assembly instead, which is a small change at build time and a large difference a year later — a rusted-through bolt on a balcony chair is not merely cosmetic.
The same logic applies to anything that sits in a sliding-door draft or near a window that is open to the sea breeze: metal bed frames, console legs, shelving brackets. It is also why we would rather assemble outdoor furniture on the balcony where it is going than in an air-conditioned living room and then wrestle it through the door. On the mainland side of Hollywood the salt exposure drops off quickly, and in 33021 it is essentially a non-issue — another reason the same customer can get different advice for their island rental and their family house.

Furniture Assembly in Hollywood — questions we get asked
How much does furniture assembly cost in Hollywood?
$129 for a simple item such as a bookshelf, side table or TV stand; $169 for a desk, dresser or dining table; $219 for a wardrobe, bed frame or entertainment center. Three or more pieces takes 10% off the total. For a rental refit or a whole apartment, $80/hr with a two-hour minimum is usually the lower number — send the list to (786) 788-8714 and we will price it both ways.
Can I trust the person coming into my Hollywood home or rental?
Gold Hands Miami is insured, and you get the name of who is coming and the arrival window before the visit. In the beachside buildings management holds our certificate of insurance and the front desk logs the visit, which is a second check on top of ours. For owners who are not in Florida we work from the front desk or a lockbox and send photographs of every finished piece, so the unit can be released without anyone being there.
My Hollywood Beach building requires a certificate of insurance and has a holiday no-work rule. Can you work around that?
Yes. The certificate is standard for 33019 towers and we send it to management as part of booking, so give us the building name and the office contact. On the scheduling side, tell us the building's quiet hours and holiday restrictions; we plan the noisy portion of the build — the anchoring, essentially — to fall inside permitted hours, and we take the elevator and loading window management assigns rather than turning up and hoping.
Can you assemble furniture inside a vacation rental turnover window?
Yes, and on Hollywood Beach it is one of the main ways we work. Give us the check-out and check-in times and we build inside the gap, take the packaging out of the building rather than leaving it in the unit's trash room, and send photos so you can confirm the unit is guest-ready from wherever you are. For recurring units we keep the building's access rules and your item preferences on file, which makes the next booking a short conversation.
How long does furniture assembly take?
A simple item like a bookshelf takes 30-45 minutes. A full bedroom set — bed, dresser, nightstands — typically takes 2-3 hours. We give you a time estimate when you book.
Do I need to unbox the furniture first?
No. We handle everything from unboxing to assembly to cleanup. Just show us where you want it placed.
Can you assemble furniture I bought from any store?
Yes. If it comes in a box with instructions, we can build it — regardless of brand or where you bought it.
What if parts are missing from the kit?
We identify the missing part and help you contact the manufacturer for a replacement. For common hardware, we often carry a spare in the truck.
