The most frequent reason a screen goes on a wall in this city has nothing to do with technology. A heavy unit or an old armoire is taking up a quarter of a villa's living room, the television on top of it is at the wrong height anyway, and putting the panel on the wall gives back floor space that matters in a room of that size. Which means the important decision is not the bracket, it is the height - and the right height is the one measured from where you actually sit. A recliner puts the eye lower than a sofa. A dining chair puts it higher. A bedroom screen watched from a propped pillow is looked at from below and off to one side, and wants a tilt so the face of the panel comes round to meet the viewer instead of reflecting the lamp. We set all of that with the household in their own seats. When you get in touch, start with the particulars: how many panels, the rooms they are going in, the diagonal of each, what the room is being cleared of, whether the mount is already in the house, and anything else waiting on the same visit - a shelf, a rail, a piece of furniture in a box. Then (786) 788-8714. On the split of work, plainly: hanging screens on walls that can carry them, supplying or fitting brackets, tidying the cable, getting a console, a bar and a streaming box connected and within arm's reach - ours. Electrical work is not. A socket added behind the screen, a circuit lengthened, cable concealed within a wall, a permit pulled - a licensed electrician does that, and in a managed community it needs the association's agreement as well.
Tamarac sits in central Broward, built out mostly between the 1970s and the 1990s, and 33321 mixes single-family homes, attached villas and condominiums with a strong presence of active-adult and 55-plus communities - Kings Point among them - nearly all of it organised under homeowners' associations and condominium boards. The city is flat and laid out off Commercial Boulevard and University Drive, which makes scheduled visits easy to reach and puts most of the surrounding cities a short drive away.
Two facts shape almost every job here. The housing is several decades old, so original fixtures and finishes are reaching the point of being replaced rather than repaired. And the community usually has a say in when a contractor may work and what paperwork must be on file before they arrive. Neither is an obstacle when it is handled in the right order; both are irritating when they are discovered on the morning of the appointment.

Getting the floor back in a Tamarac villa
Villas here are efficient rather than large, and a full-depth media unit in the living room costs a walkway. Taking the screen off it and putting it on the wall changes the room more than it changes the viewing, which is why the conversation on the day is usually about what the room is going to look like afterwards: what replaces the unit underneath, whether a low console is still wanted for the equipment, and how much clear floor is left between the seating and the wall.
Reachability is the thing people forget to ask for and then miss. A streaming box, a disc player or a games console that ends up high on a shelf or wedged behind a panel is an annoyance every single day. We put the equipment where a seated person can reach it without kneeling on the floor, with enough air around anything that runs warm, and we make sure the remote actually talks to the box from the chair before we call the job finished. That last check takes a minute and prevents a return visit.
Party walls and partitions in attached Tamarac homes
In the attached villas the wall you share with a neighbour deserves a moment's thought. Structurally it will hold a television easily. The two considerations are that a heavy bracket bolted through into a shared assembly is not something to do casually, and that a large panel with a sound bar against a common wall transmits more into next door than the same setup on an outside wall. Where there is a choice of walls, we will usually suggest the one that is not shared, and explain why rather than just doing it quietly.
The other walls in these homes are predictable once read: block at the perimeter, framed partitions inside, and in a good number of villas a textured ceiling from the original build that nobody should be putting anchors into for any reason. We locate framing before fixing, we do not rely on board anchors for a big screen, and where a wall has been opened during a past renovation we check what is behind it rather than assuming the framing runs where it usually would.
Booking a Tamarac visit through the association
Boards in this city are organised, and the ones running the 55-plus communities are the most organised of all. The usual requirements are documentation on file at the office before a contractor arrives, the visit named in advance, and work confined to permitted hours - which are frequently weekday and daytime only, with quiet expected around shared walls and walkways. Some communities ask the unit owner to register the vendor rather than accepting it from the contractor, which is a small detail that delays a lot of appointments when nobody knows about it.
So the useful thing to give us at booking is the community name and the office contact, and to check whether your association wants the registration to come from you. Interior mounting itself needs no architectural approval anywhere - boards concern themselves with the exterior. If the job turns out to need an outlet moved or added, that is a licensed electrician's piece of work, and in a condominium it is worth confirming what the association requires of them before anything is scheduled.

TV Mounting in Tamarac — questions we get asked
How do you decide what a Tamarac television installation will cost?
The quote is written first, before you agree to anything, and there is no charge for it. It follows the number of panels and their sizes, what we find inside each wall, the distance from the screen to the equipment, whether anything has to be moved or taken away, and the rest of the list for the same visit. Where a job is really two jobs - a mount plus clearing and disposing of the old unit underneath - we say so and price both rather than discovering it halfway through. Parts we supply are shown separately from the time.
Who will be working in a Tamarac home, and what if something is damaged along the way?
One technician, whose name you are given when the appointment is confirmed. He works with the floor covered where the ladder stands, moves the covering each time the ladder moves, and catches the drilling dust at the wall as it is made. Panels are handled flat and rested face down on padding. If we damage a television or anything else while working, that is ours to put right and we sort it out with you on the day, not through a series of phone calls afterwards.
Does our Tamarac association have to approve a wall-mounted screen?
Not the mounting itself - approvals here cover what can be seen from outside the unit, and a bracket in your living room falls outside that entirely. What the community does control is the visit: paperwork on file at the office, the contractor registered in advance, and work done inside the permitted hours, which in the active-adult communities tend to be weekdays. In several associations the registration has to come from the owner rather than from us, so it is worth asking your office that one question before we are booked.
Can the living room and the bedroom screens both be done in one Tamarac appointment?
Ordinarily yes, and adding the old unit's removal or a shelf to the same slot is sensible. What genuinely prevents it: a position with no power near it has to wait for an electrician, and a community whose permitted hours end early can simply run out of afternoon on a long list. Occasionally a wall turns out to need a fixing that is not in the van. When any of those happens we complete what we can do properly and schedule the remainder rather than leaving something half-finished on a wall you have to look at.
We lease a villa in Tamarac. What do the holes mean at the end?
Ask the owner in writing beforehand; in a community like this the association's rules and the lease both tend to be specific, and it is a two-minute conversation before rather than a dispute afterwards. The fixing leaves a compact group of holes hidden behind the panel while it is up. At the end of the term they are filled, sanded and painted, and a plastered wall comes back flat. Keep the bracket's box - the mount belongs to you and travels. We will handle the making-good as its own short visit if you prefer not to.
We close our Tamarac villa up for the summer. Does a wall-mounted screen need anything?
The mount does not - a bracket properly fixed into a wall is indifferent to a season of nobody being there. The thing worth thinking about is the air in a closed-up unit. If the cooling is set very high or switched off while you are away, the humidity inside climbs and that is hard on electronics generally, screens included, and harder still on anything in a room that catches afternoon sun through glass. Leaving the system running at a moderate setting is the usual advice in these communities. When you come back and something needs repositioning or reconnecting, that is a short visit rather than a new installation.
How long does TV mounting take?
Most jobs take 45 to 90 minutes depending on wall type and cable concealment. Concrete and brick walls take a bit longer because of drilling.
Do I need to provide the mount bracket?
You can provide your own, or we bring one. We recommend fixed, tilting, or full-motion based on your TV size and where you sit relative to the wall.
