A large wooden playset is quoted, not priced off a list: our rate is $80/hr with a two-hour minimum, and you get a written quote with the hours before we start. Smaller flat-pack builds have set prices - $129 for a simple item, $169 for a medium one, $219 for a complex one, with 10% off the total on three or more pieces.

Most people who call us about a playset are in the same spot: the kit has been ordered, the delivery date is still vague, and the box is going to land in the driveway whether or not there is a plan for it. Gold Hands handles playset assembly and swing set installation in Miami - wooden towers, playgrounds, playhouses and trampolines - anchors them, and clears the packaging. Send a photo of the set or a link to the model and your yard, and we will send a written quote with the hours before anything is scheduled. Call or text (786) 788-8714.

These are not one-hour jobs. A full wooden set - a Gorilla Playsets Outing, a Backyard Discovery tower, or a similar kit with a slide, sandbox, rock wall and swing beam - is hundreds of parts and a multi-day build for a crew, which is why it does not map onto a flat item price. We price it as an $80 service call, then $80/hr with a two-hour minimum, and put the estimate in writing first. Flat-pack furniture and smaller metal sets stay on the item pricing: $129 simple, $169 medium, $219 complex, 10% off at three or more pieces. Playsets, swing sets and trampolines are a regular part of our work. Brand names above are only examples of kits we assemble - Gold Hands is an independent assembly service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any playset manufacturer. We are insured, and if a part of the work legally requires a licensed trade - running power out to the yard, for example - that piece goes to a licensed pro instead of us.

Where the set can actually go in a Miami yard

South Florida back yards are usually small, fenced and reached through a side gate, and that decides more about the job than the kit does. A tower with a slide needs clearance around every side, not just its own footprint, and the lumber has to physically get back there - a 60-inch beam does not turn a corner in a 36-inch gate, so sometimes the timber goes over the fence or through the house. We look at gate width, the path from the driveway, and the level of the ground before quoting, because a sloped or soft spot changes the build.

The other constraint is what your association allows. Plenty of Miami-Dade HOAs have rules on how tall a structure in a yard can be, how far it must sit from the fence line, and whether it can be seen from the street, and many require a vendor certificate of insurance before anyone works on the property. We are insured and send our certificate to management ahead of the appointment. Check your covenants before the kit ships - it is easier to move the order than to move a built set.

Anchoring, hurricane season and afternoon storms

Anchoring is the part of this job that matters most here, and it is the part a rushed build skips. A tall wooden tower with a roof is a sail. Between the summer storms that come through most afternoons and the named storms from June onward, a set that is only sitting on its own weight is a problem for your yard and your neighbor's. We anchor to the manufacturer's spec for the kit, in the ground conditions you actually have, and we tell you if the spot you picked will not hold.

Trampoline assembly is the same story in a smaller package - they move in wind, and an unanchored one ends up in a pool cage or a fence. When we assemble a trampoline we anchor it and check the enclosure netting and pads are seated properly rather than just tightened at the end. If a storm is forecast for your build window we will say so and move the day rather than leave a half-built frame standing in the yard.

The build day, and what is not included

Outdoor builds in Miami start early. From late spring through the summer the useful hours are the morning ones, so we get on site early, work through the heat of the day where we can, and pick up the next morning if the set runs long. You do not need to be home the whole time, but we do need access to the yard, the delivered boxes on site, and somewhere to lay parts out - hundreds of pieces need floor space before they need a screwdriver.

One thing to be clear on: we build and anchor the set, and we clear the cardboard and packaging when we leave. We do not do the ground surfacing under it. Mulch, rubber tiles, poured surfacing, sod, grading, drainage - that is landscaping, and it is a separate trade. Customers ask us about it often, so it is worth saying plainly rather than letting you find out on the day. If you want surfacing down before the playground installation, get that scheduled first and we will build on top of it.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to build a playset in Miami?

A large wooden playset is quoted per set, not priced from a list, because the kits vary enormously - a compact metal swing set and a full tower with a slide, sandbox, rock wall and roof are not the same job. Our rate is $80/hr with a two-hour minimum and you get a written quote before we start. Smaller flat-pack items are priced per piece: $129 simple, $169 medium, $219 complex, 10% off the total on three or more. Call or text (786) 788-8714 with a photo or a link to the model.

How long does it take to assemble a swing set?

It depends on the kit, so we put the hours in your written quote for your specific set rather than quoting a generic number here. A big wooden playground with hundreds of parts is a multi-day build; a metal swing set or a trampoline is much shorter. Send us the model and a photo of the yard and you will get the time estimate in writing before you commit to a date.

Can I get a written quote before my playset is delivered?

Yes, and that is how most of these start - people order the kit before they have a delivery date. Send the model name or the product link and a photo of where it is going, and we will send a written quote with the price and the hours. When the boxes actually land, call or text (786) 788-8714 and we will book the build.

Do you install mulch or rubber surfacing under the playset?

No. We build and anchor the set and remove the packaging, but ground surfacing - mulch, rubber tiles, poured surfacing, sod or grading - is landscaping work and we do not do it. If you want it down first, schedule that separately and we will assemble on top of the finished surface.

How long does furniture assembly take?

A simple item like a bookshelf takes 30-45 minutes. A full bedroom set — bed, dresser, nightstands — typically takes 2-3 hours. We give you a time estimate when you book.

Do I need to unbox the furniture first?

No. We handle everything from unboxing to assembly to cleanup. Just show us where you want it placed.

Can you assemble furniture I bought from any store?

Yes. If it comes in a box with instructions, we can build it — regardless of brand or where you bought it.

What if parts are missing from the kit?

We identify the missing part and help you contact the manufacturer for a replacement. For common hardware, we often carry a spare in the truck.
