A treadmill, Peloton, or multi-station home gym counts as a complex item, so assembly in Miami is $219 per machine, with 10% off the total on three or more pieces. Taking a machine apart before a move, or repairing one, is billed at the hourly rate of $80/hr with a two-hour minimum, because that work does not map to a per-item price.
Half the fitness equipment calls we take are not assembly at all. They are people who are moving on a fixed date and have just been told by their movers that nobody is touching the treadmill until it comes apart. The rest are new machines still in the crate, and machines that broke — a snapped cable on a shoulder press, a console that will not seat, a leg-extension station that arrived with a bent bolt. Gold Hands handles all three. Assembly is $219 per machine, disassembly and repair are an $80 service call, then $80/hr with a two-hour minimum. Call or text (786) 788-8714 with the make and model and a photo, and we will tell you which one you are looking at before anyone drives out.
We have assembled and moved plenty of home gym equipment in Miami — treadmills, Pelotons, Bowflex, NordicTrack, Sole and Hoist cable stations among them. Naming those is just to say what has actually come through the door; we are an independent handyman company and are not authorized by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any equipment manufacturer. We are insured, which matters here because most of this equipment lives on the eighth floor of a building that will not let a vendor past the loading dock without a certificate on file.

Taking the machine apart before the movers arrive
Moving companies will move a treadmill. Most of them will not disassemble one, and they say so the day before, which leaves you between the mover's arrival window and a 300-pound machine that does not fit down your stairs in one piece. This is the most common fitness call we get: "I have a Peloton and a Sole treadmill, I'm moving, I need someone to carefully take the treadmill apart — my movers can move it tomorrow." We come the day before, break the machine down to pieces two people can carry, keep the hardware bagged and labeled by assembly, and leave it stacked where the movers can pick it up.
The same job runs in reverse, and often it is the same machine twice: down from a second floor, into the truck, then reassembled in the basement or the new spare room. One customer needed a Bowflex T22 moved downstairs to a basement and knew going in that it would have to come apart and go back together at the bottom of the stairs. Disassembly and reassembly are billed at $80/hr with a two-hour minimum rather than a flat item price, because a machine that goes down a stair turn is a different amount of work than one that rolls out a ground-floor door. Book the disassembly for the day before your move, not the morning of — if the movers are standing in the hallway, everyone is working against the clock.
Freight elevators, door frames, and whether it fits at all
In a Miami condo the machine is the easy part and the building is the job. A treadmill crate goes up in the freight elevator, which means a reserved time window from management, a loading dock slot, and in most buildings a vendor certificate of insurance on file before anyone starts work. Weekday-only elevator rules are common, so a Saturday delivery frequently sits in the lobby until Monday. Tell us your building when you book and we send the certificate to management ahead of the appointment and take whatever window they give us.
The other question worth settling before delivery day is whether the assembled machine can reach the room at all. Plenty of treadmills and multi-station gyms are wider assembled than a standard 30-inch interior door, so they get built in the room they will stand in, not in the living room and walked over. On an upper floor with a tight stair turn, the honest answer is sometimes that the machine has to go up in pieces. Send us a photo of the doorway and the path from the elevator and we will tell you before the crate is on its way. One thing we do not do: if the machine needs a new dedicated circuit or a new outlet run to it, that is electrical work and goes to a licensed electrician — we will say so rather than improvise.
Repairs: cables, consoles, and equipment that arrived wrong
Cable machines break in a predictable place. A customer wrote to us about the cable on their shoulder press machine snapping and wanted it repaired rather than replaced, which is the usual instinct — the frame is fine, one part failed. We handle cable and pulley replacement, loose or stripped hardware, wobbling frames that were assembled out of square, consoles and displays that will not seat, and belts and decks that need to be reset. Repair work is $80/hr with a two-hour minimum. If your machine is still under manufacturer warranty, check that first: their service is likely free and we will tell you to use it.
We also get called on assembly quotes for specific machines before the equipment ships — a Hoist Fitness HD3400 dual leg extension/leg curl was one. Sending the model number ahead of time is worth doing. It tells us the shipping weight, whether it comes as one crate or four, and whether it is a $219 assembly or an hourly job because of where it has to end up. Parts are the one thing we do not stock: if a proprietary cable or bracket has to be ordered from the manufacturer, that comes from them, and we come back once it lands.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to assemble a treadmill in Miami?
$219. A treadmill is a complex item, the same tier as a home gym, a multi-station machine, a wardrobe or a bed frame. Three or more pieces in one visit takes 10% off the total. If the job is not really assembly — a machine that has to come apart for a move, or a repair — it is $80/hr with a two-hour minimum instead. Call or text (786) 788-8714 with the model.
Can someone take apart my treadmill before the movers come?
Yes, and that is roughly half of what we do with fitness equipment. We break the machine down to pieces two people can carry, bag and label the hardware so it goes back together correctly, and leave everything stacked for your movers. Book it for the day before the move rather than the morning of. It runs at $80/hr with a two-hour minimum; reassembly at the new place is the same rate.
Do you repair gym equipment, or only assemble it?
We repair as well: snapped cables and pulleys, stripped or loose hardware, frames assembled out of square, consoles that will not seat. Repairs are $80/hr with a two-hour minimum. We do not stock proprietary parts, so if a specific cable or bracket has to come from the manufacturer it gets ordered and we return to fit it. If the machine is still under warranty, use the manufacturer's service first.
Will a treadmill fit through my door, or does it have to be built in the room?
Many treadmills and home gyms are wider assembled than a standard 30-inch interior door, so we build them in the room they are going to stay in. For an upper floor or a tight stair turn, the machine sometimes has to go up in pieces and be assembled at the top. Send a photo of the doorway and the path from the elevator before your delivery date and we will tell you which it is.
How long does furniture assembly take?
A simple item like a bookshelf takes 30-45 minutes. A full bedroom set — bed, dresser, nightstands — typically takes 2-3 hours. We give you a time estimate when you book.
Do I need to unbox the furniture first?
No. We handle everything from unboxing to assembly to cleanup. Just show us where you want it placed.
Can you assemble furniture I bought from any store?
Yes. If it comes in a box with instructions, we can build it — regardless of brand or where you bought it.
What if parts are missing from the kit?
We identify the missing part and help you contact the manufacturer for a replacement. For common hardware, we often carry a spare in the truck.
