Desk assembly in Miami is $169 per desk — a desk is a medium item, the same as a dresser or dining table — with $129 for a simple item, $219 for a complex one, and 10% off the total on three or more pieces. Most of what we are sent is a motorised sit-stand desk still in its box, where the frame goes together in a set order and the top has to be squared to the frame or the desk racks every time it travels up and down.
The box is usually already in the room, and the person who ordered it needs to work at that desk. Gold Hands builds it where it is going to stand, squares the top to the frame, gets the cable run off the floor and takes the packaging out. Pricing is per item: $169 for a desk, $129 for a simple item like a bookshelf or TV stand, $219 for a complex one like a wardrobe or bed frame, 10% off the total at three or more pieces. Office furniture assembly in Miami — a room of desks and shelving going in at once — either falls under that 3+ discount or is easier billed hourly: an $80 service call, then $80/hr with a two-hour minimum — call or text (786) 788-8714 with a photo of the box and we will tell you which one is cheaper for you.
Desks are one of the things we are asked for most, and standing desks are the bulk of them. They come from Amazon and from frame brands most people have never heard of, bought on price, arriving with thin instructions and a lot of parts. Naming where you bought it just helps us know what is in the box — we are an independent Miami handyman company, not affiliated with or endorsed by any retailer or desk manufacturer. We are insured.

Standing desks are most of this work, and they are not flat-pack tables
A motorised sit-stand desk is a frame with two powered legs, a crossbar, a control box and a keypad, and it goes together in one order and not another. The legs have to sit square before the top is fixed to them; if they do not, the desk binds and racks every time it travels, and you find that out after the top is already screwed down. The top itself is heavy enough that flipping it and mounting it is a two-person lift in a small bedroom. That is the actual reason people hand this one over — not the screws, but the order, the squaring and the weight.
The frames we see are mostly bought online, from Amazon and from lesser-known brands, and the paperwork in the box tends to be a page of diagrams with the hardware bagged by letter. Most of these desks also need their height range reset once after they are put together before the keypad behaves. We do that before we leave, run the desk up and down through its full travel with you watching, and clip the power and monitor cables to the frame so nothing gets pulled when it rises.
Home offices in Brickell, Edgewater and on the Beach
A lot of these desks go into a second bedroom that became an office, and where exactly the desk sits is half the job: within reach of an outlet, out of the glare off the window, with enough slack in the power cable that the desk can rise without dragging the plug out of the wall. We build it in that spot rather than in the middle of the floor, and clip the cables under the top so the desk moves cleanly. If your setup needs a new outlet put in for it, that is electrical work that legally belongs to a licensed electrician and we hand it off rather than touch it.
The building side is the other half. A large desk box does not fit anywhere sensible in a condo hallway, and it cannot sit in the corridor while we work, so it comes in through the freight elevator in whatever window management gives us — and most buildings here want a vendor certificate of insurance on file before that window is booked. We are insured and send the certificate to your property manager ahead of the appointment. The cardboard leaves with us too: one desk box will fill a small trash room on its own, and plenty of buildings will not take it unflattened. We cover 33130, 33131, 33132, 33137, 33139, 33141, 33160 and 33172 — Downtown, Brickell, Edgewater, Miami Beach, North Beach, Sunny Isles and Doral.
The desk is usually needed before the next working day
The requests we get for this read differently from the rest of our furniture work. People ask for today, ask for Saturday, and offer to pay more to get someone out — because they are working from home and cannot work until the desk exists, and the box landed on a Friday afternoon. We understand the position, and we would rather tell you the truth than a slogan: we do not publish a response time and we will not promise same-day sight unseen. Call or text (786) 788-8714 and you will get the real next window we have, including whether your building's elevator hours make that window possible at all.
What makes that answer fast is knowing the model, the floor, and whether the freight elevator has to be reserved. Send a photo of the box and the building name with your first message and we can confirm the price and a time in the same conversation, instead of trading questions while your work sits on the dining table.

Frequently asked questions
How much to assemble a desk in Miami?
$169 per desk. A desk counts as a medium item, the same as a dresser or a dining table. Simple items like a bookshelf, side table or TV stand are $129 and complex items like a wardrobe, bed frame or entertainment center are $219, with 10% off the total on three or more pieces. Standing desks are priced the same as any other desk. Call or text (786) 788-8714.
Can you assemble a standing desk?
Yes, and it is most of what we do in this category — motorised sit-stand frames, still in the box, from Amazon and from smaller brands. We build the frame in the right order, square the legs before the top goes on so the desk does not rack when it travels, reset the height range, and run it through its full travel before we leave. Same $169 medium-item price as a fixed desk.
Can someone come today or on Saturday?
Sometimes, but we will not promise it before we look. We do not publish a response time and we do not want to book you in and then miss it while you are waiting to start work. Text (786) 788-8714 with the desk model and your building and you will get the actual next available window, weekends included, plus whether the building's freight elevator hours allow that slot.
I have several desks for a new office — how does the price work?
Office desk assembly in Miami is priced per desk exactly like a home office. Three or more pieces takes 10% off the total, so four desks at $169 each price out under that discount. If the office is a mix of desks, chairs, shelving and monitor arms, hourly at $80/hr with a two-hour minimum usually comes out lower, and we will tell you which way is cheaper before we start. Office buildings and condos that need a certificate of insurance can have ours sent to management ahead of the appointment — we are insured.
How long does furniture assembly take?
A simple item like a bookshelf takes 30-45 minutes. A full bedroom set — bed, dresser, nightstands — typically takes 2-3 hours. We give you a time estimate when you book.
Do I need to unbox the furniture first?
No. We handle everything from unboxing to assembly to cleanup. Just show us where you want it placed.
Can you assemble furniture I bought from any store?
Yes. If it comes in a box with instructions, we can build it — regardless of brand or where you bought it.
What if parts are missing from the kit?
We identify the missing part and help you contact the manufacturer for a replacement. For common hardware, we often carry a spare in the truck.
