Cabinet repair in Miami is $99 for one small fix that takes under an hour — a single drawer back on its slides, one sagging door hinge, one set of handles swapped. A longer list is $80/hr with a two-hour minimum, $389 for a half day or $715 for a full day. Gold Hands is an insured handyman company, and this is repair and retrofit work inside the cabinets you already have — not new cabinet installation, refacing or painting.
Almost nobody calls a cabinet company about two drawers that keep coming off their tracks, because the cabinet company will not come out for it. The job is too small to be worth a shop visit, and the customer is left with a drawer they have to lift back into place every morning. That gap is the entire reason this page exists. We take the jobs that are one drawer, one door, one pair of hinges, one set of knobs — the $99 small task if it is a single item under an hour, an $80 service call, then $80/hr with a two-hour minimum once there is a list. Call or text (786) 788-8714 with a photo of the drawer pulled out so we can see the slide.
Cabinet work like this is a regular call for us in Miami. A typical one, in the customer's own words: "We are looking for someone to come in and install 4 drawers in our kitchen cabinets. We have the cabinets installed already, and have the drawers purchased, we just need them fitted." Another was "the kitchen cabinet repair for the 2 drawers that keep coming off the tracks." A third was a patch of drywall cut out of the back of a kitchen cabinet to run an under-sink water filter, never repaired, with the cut piece still sitting in the cabinet. Different jobs, same shape: the cabinets stay, something inside or behind them gets fixed. Gold Hands is insured, which is what a condo building asks for before it lets a vendor upstairs.

Drawers that come off the tracks — and drawers you already bought
Drawer slides fail in a small number of predictable ways: the plastic clip at the back of the runner snaps, the ball-bearing carriage comes out of its channel, the runner bends after something heavy was dropped in, or the mounting screws pull out of a particle-board cabinet side and the whole slide tilts. The drawer then rides at an angle and pops off every few uses. We replace the slides rather than nurse the old ones, reset the mounting into sound material, and check the drawer sits square in the opening before we leave. One drawer, in and out inside the hour, is the $99 small task; two or three is hourly at $80/hr on the two-hour minimum.
The other half of this is retrofit. People buy drawers, drawer boxes, pull-out shelves or organisers to go into cabinets they already own, and then discover fitting them is not a five-minute job — the opening has to be measured, the slides mounted level to each other and set back correctly, and on a face-frame cabinet mounting brackets are needed that did not come in the box. We fit customer-supplied drawers and pull-outs into existing cabinets regularly. Have the parts on site when we arrive; a run of four drawers is an hourly job, not a single small task.
Doors that stopped sitting flush: humidity, salt air and soft-close hinges
Most Miami kitchen cabinets are particle board or MDF with a laminate or thermofoil face. Year-round humidity swells that material, especially around the sink and the dishwasher, and a door that has grown even slightly no longer hangs the way the hinges were set for. The result is doors that sit proud at one corner, gaps that do not line up across a pair, and soft-close hinges that either sag or stop catching at the end of travel. Closer to the water — Miami Beach, Sunny Isles, the bay-facing lines in Brickell and Edgewater — salt air also gets into hinge cups and drawer-slide bearings, and corroded hardware stiffens and then binds.
What we do about it is hardware, not cosmetics: realign doors on their existing hinges where the hinge is still good, replace hinges like for like where the cup is corroded or the soft-close mechanism is finished, repair stripped screw holes so the hinge has something solid to hold, and swap knobs, handles and pulls including drilling for a different hole spacing. We do not reface, paint or replace cabinet doors and boxes on this page. If a door has delaminated or the box itself has swollen apart, hardware will not save it and we will tell you that instead of charging you to find out.
Condo units, rentals, and the wall behind the cabinet
Rental and short-term-rental units are where cabinets fail first. The drawers get opened by people who do not own them, several times a day, every week of the year, and the cheapest slide in the kitchen goes first. Owners and property managers usually want the whole unit dealt with in one visit rather than a call-out per drawer, which is what the $389 half day and $715 full day are for. For buildings or managers who want cabinets and general upkeep handled on a regular monthly basis, ask us for a rate — it depends on the number of units and what is included, so we quote it rather than publishing a number.
Cabinet work in a Miami condo also means paperwork. Most towers require a vendor certificate of insurance on file with management before anyone works in a unit; we are insured and send our certificate ahead of the appointment, so tell us the building when you book. And a good share of these calls are not really about the cabinet at all — it is the wall behind it. Somebody cut a hole in the drywall inside the cabinet to run an under-sink water filter or a new valve and never closed it up. We patch that, including refitting the original cut-out piece if you kept it. If the filter or valve still needs to be plumbed in, that connection goes to a licensed plumber; we do the carpentry and the patch.

Frequently asked questions
how much to fix a kitchen cabinet drawer in miami
One drawer that is off its tracks and takes under an hour is $99. Once it is two or more drawers, or a drawer plus a couple of doors, it goes hourly at $80/hr with a two-hour minimum. A whole kitchen gone over in one visit is $389 for a half day or $715 for a full day. Send a photo of the drawer pulled all the way out so we can see the slide before quoting.
can you install drawers in cabinets i already have
Yes, that is most of what we do here. You buy the drawers, drawer boxes, pull-out shelves or organisers, and we fit them into the cabinets already on your wall — measuring the opening, mounting the slides level and square, and adding face-frame brackets when the cabinet needs them and the kit did not include them. Have the parts on site for the appointment. A run of four drawers is hourly work at $80/hr rather than a single $99 task. We do not sell or install new cabinets.
who fixes a kitchen cabinet door that won't close properly
A handyman does. Cabinet companies generally will not send someone out for one door, which is why these calls end up with us. Doors that sit proud, gaps that do not line up, and soft-close hinges that sag or no longer catch are usually a hinge alignment, a corroded or worn hinge to replace, or screw holes that have given up in particle board. We also swap knobs, handles and pulls at the same visit. We do not paint, reface or replace doors.
do you do cabinet repair in condo buildings that require insurance
Yes. Gold Hands is insured and sends a certificate of insurance to building management before the appointment, which is what most Miami associations ask for. Tell us the building when you book so the paperwork is in ahead of time. For anything on the job that legally needs a licensed trade — plumbing a water filter or valve, running power for a new appliance — that part goes to a licensed pro, and we handle the cabinet, drawer, hinge, hardware and drywall-patch work around it.
Can I give you a list of multiple small tasks?
Absolutely — it is actually the most cost-effective way to use the service. Many customers hand us 5-10 tasks and we knock them all out in one visit instead of paying separate minimums for each.
What is the minimum charge?
A 2-hour booking at $80/hour, or a $99 flat rate for a single small task. Either way, we quote the cost upfront before starting.
Do you work in condos and apartments?
Yes, throughout Miami-Dade County — we are familiar with building access procedures and HOA requirements common in local condos and townhomes.
Do you offer recurring maintenance for rental properties?
Yes. Property managers and homeowners often book us for monthly or quarterly visits at a discounted rate to stay ahead of small repairs before tenants complain.
